Single Stream Recycling collection coming to all Ferndale residential customers in 2025

Sanitary Service Company (SSC) is rolling out single-stream recycling to City of Ferndale residential customers beginning in August 2025.  Single-stream recycling increases customer convenience, reduces operational costs and litter, improves worker safety, and decreases carbon emissions due to fewer trucks on the street.  

 All City of Ferndale residents will receive a 90 gallon green Toter with a blue lid delivered to their residence. The first single-stream recycling pick-up will be on the first regular recycling pick-up day after receiving the new recycling Toter.

Collection days will not change and collection remains on an every-other-week collection schedule.  After receiving the new single-stream recycling Toter, residents should no longer use their old stack three recycling bins.
